Sorry you couldn't make it Josh, we missed you guys ;)

Gorilla Gamers ’07 Fall LAN party is coming soon! Register at: http://www.gorillagamers.org/e107_plu ... p?viewitem.3.1.1191819600

This event will now take place in room 316 Hughes Hall due to unforeseen issues with the Dellinger Underground.
Doors will open up at 6:00pm on Friday October 19th and close at 2:00am the following morning. The room and building will be locked and no one will have access to your equipment if you wish to leave it for the evening. The doors will reopen at 11:00am on Saturday October 20th and remain open until 2:00am the following morning. Please enter through the north doors of Hughes Hall. There is an elevator and we will have a cart to help everyone with their equipment. If you need further directions please contact us via the forums or email.

Room 316 Hughes is a new room. It has several advantages over the Underground. It has new comfortable office chairs, nice tables that can be arranged however we see fit. There is a projection system and 2 plasma TVs w/ a Bose speakers system that we can display stats, play movies or music on. This room also comes with a kitchen, refrigerator and popcorn machine. Everyone should be very comfortable.

What to bring:
1. Computer
2. Monitor
3. Keyboard, mouse, mouse pad
4. Headphones (no speakers please)
5. Power strip
6. The longest network cable you have up to 50’
7. Snacks & drinks (no alcohol per university rules)
8. Your game face, or something cheesy like that
9. Please have Anti-Virus software installed

What not to bring:
1. Speakers
2. Alcohol
3. Viruses

We do have some sponsorship but not a lot. We are expecting BAWLS LAN schwag and free pizza from Wheatstate Pizza. This means, Saturday evening we will provide the pizza and give out some schwag.

We really hope to see you there because you make the LAN party a success by showing up and having a good time.

Yes! Boberz is correct. I am working on getting my hands on 2 37" LCD TV because I do the the two Xbox 360 nailed down but if I can get them for a tourney it will require great care with them. But this should be a good lan and I am sure boberz will get a poll going but here are the games I want to see and some I want to REALLY not play.

Top Dogs
---------------------
Quake Wars : ET (I dont know you if you don't have it!)

TF:2 (you don't have the orange box yet!?)

Unreal 3 : Demo (free)

FEAR : Multiplayer (the free one)

Meh.

Awsomesauce! Nobody has posted (you slackers!), but I've gotten word from Random Hero that he'll be coming with a whole car load of like 6 peeps! w00t.

Word on the street is that there MIGHT be an xbox 360 with high-def TV and some HALO 3!

I've also gotten some other feedback from about 5 other people that they'll be attending!!

So far my count is about 12 people! Should be a great LAN!

It's LAN PARTY time again folks!!

I got tired of waiting for Ventura or MrCool to throw one, so I got the ball rolling! This time around we're planning on playing Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, and Team Fortress 2!

Quake Wars is out NOW and can be had from Newegg.com
You can download the demo and play on our DEMO server at 64.254.60.7!

Team Fortress 2 will be out October 10th!

If you're not familier with TF2 and QW you should go check out the trailers for TF2 at Orange Box: Half Life 2

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

SEK LAN Party

When: November 3, 2007
Where: Independence Corporate Offices Rm 119
Games: Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, Team Fortress 2

Please note - We intend on playing these two games. Please have at least one of them if you want to come to the LAN party! It won't do you any good to show up without a game to play!

Need advice on new ATI PCI Express card...

I'm looking to buy a new PCI Express ATI card. My budget allows for $150 from Walmart.com as I've got gift cards, or roughly $100 from someplace.

I'm not a serious gamer, but I enjoy playing games a lot (City of Heros, Neverwinter Nights, Warcraft, not WOW as I don't own it, etc). I ran a 256 AGP 8x GeForce FX 5200 in my last machine, and my new MOBO only has PCI Express, hence the need for new video card.

Any suggestions? Any chipsets/manufacturers I should stay away from?

On walmart.com I've found these two cards:
ATI Radeon X1300 Pro 256MB PCIE
and, my first choice, based on memory
Radeon X1600 PCIe 512 MB

Thanks for any help.
